The 4-Day Trip

Day 1

Arriving in Phong Nha

Arrival

Arrive Dong Hoi (VDH), the nearest airport to Phong Nha. Road transfer to Phong Nha, overnight.

Day 2

Into the jungle

The trek begins

Early morning pickup, safety briefing and gear check with Oxalis. The trek begins — jungle trail, river crossings, lunch at Đoòng village — reaching the Hang En cave entrance by mid-afternoon. Camp on the sandy beach inside the cave.

Day 3

Inside the World's Third-Largest Cave

Why this trip exists

Sunrise inside Hang En, then further exploration of the cave before the trek back out to Phong Nha, arriving in the afternoon or evening.

Day 4

Back to solid ground

Departure

A rest day in Phong Nha (optionally at Chạy Lập Farmstay or similar), then a road transfer to Dong Hoi for onward travel.

This is rated Level 3 (Moderate) by Oxalis — guests should be reasonably fit. We'll confirm Oxalis's minimum age and any health declarations required at booking before you commit to dates.
